Buoyancy Effects in Forced Laminar Convection Flow Over a Horizontal Flat Plate

Abstract

Effects of buoyancy forces in a forced laminar convection flow over a horizontal flat plate is analyzed. It is shown that the solutions may be expanded into power series in Grx /Rex 2.5 whose first terms express the solution for the purely forced convection flow. A numerical example is given to show the effects of Grashof number on the velocity profile, the temperature profile, and the Nusselt number.
